Choosing a theme

The seven PankoBlitz themes, when each fits, and how to set or switch a theme with one field.

Pick the theme that matches your product's tone, then stop thinking about design

Most theme pickers are color menus. PankoBlitz themes are not. Each of the seven is a full design system with its own fonts, spacing, and color, so the choice you make sets the entire visual character of the page, not just the accent hue. Pick by the tone your product should project, because the blocks stay the same underneath.

PankoBlitz ships seven themes: glass, sleek, paper, mono, neon, clean, and brutalist. Each is a complete design system (fonts, spacing, and color together), not a color swap, and every theme restyles the exact same blocks. Choose by the character you want: dark and glassy, serif editorial, warm and handmade, developer terminal, or raw high-contrast. Set the theme with the theme field on create-site, and switch it anytime.

How themes work

A page is an ordered list of blocks (see the block types guide). The theme is a separate layer on top of that block list. Your hero, features, testimonials, and CTA keep their content and order; the theme decides how they look. That separation is why switching is cheap: change one field and the same page renders in a different design system, no rebuild.

You set it in one of three places: the theme field on create-site, the same field on update-site to switch an existing site, or the theme control in the dashboard. There is no migration step. Publish again and the new look is live.

The seven themes and when each fits

  • glass: dark glassmorphism, frosted panels and depth. Fits AI tools, developer infra, anything that wants to look modern and a little premium. Live: phantom-ai.panko.page.
  • sleek: serif editorial. Fits agencies, writers, consultancies, and products that want to read as considered rather than shipped-fast. Live: showcase-sleek.panko.page.
  • paper: warm artisan, softer palette and texture. Fits makers, small brands, food, and anything handmade. Live: showcase-paper.panko.page.
  • mono: developer terminal, monospaced and dense. Fits CLIs, open-source projects, and audiences who live in a terminal. Live: showcase-mono.panko.page.
  • neon: cyberpunk, saturated glow on dark. Fits games, launches, crypto, and anything that wants to grab attention. Live: showcase-neon.panko.page.
  • clean: minimal terminal, quieter than mono. Fits docs-adjacent products and anyone who wants the content to carry the page. No live showcase yet.
  • brutalist: raw and high-contrast, hard edges and big type. Fits statement pages and brands that want to look nothing like a template. No live showcase yet.

Open the live links side by side before you decide. The same block structure looks like five different products across those URLs, which is the fastest way to feel what a design system does versus a color theme.

The honest limits

You cannot upload a custom theme yet. The seven are the full set. Fonts and colors are set by the theme, so you do not choose them independently: if you want a specific typeface or brand color that no theme provides, PankoBlitz cannot do that today. The tradeoff is speed. You get a coherent design without touching CSS, at the cost of picking from a fixed shelf rather than building your own.

Two of the seven (clean and brutalist) have no live showcase link yet, so you are choosing those from the description alone until a demo page ships.

Next step

Set the theme when you create the site, or switch later with a single field:

  • On create: pass theme: "glass" (or any of the seven) to create-site.
  • To change: call update-site with a new theme value, then publish again.

Try one, publish, and if the tone is off, switch the field and republish. The page content does not move.
